TBP Peer Exchange
The Trust-Based Philanthropy Project hosts the TBP Peer Exchange, an online hub for grantmakers to connect with peers and share tools, ideas, questions, and challenges in order to strengthen their trust-based approach.
This is a dedicated space for funders and grantmakers to connect with one another. We also host a dedicated listserv for consultants who are advising funders and foundations around trust-based philanthropy.
Please pick the option that is best suited for you:
Trust-Based Community Agreements
The Community Agreements below help set guidelines for trust-based community engagement and behavior. By participating in either listserv, you are agreeing to follow the community agreements. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We invite participants to show up fully as themselves, from sharing thorny problems, to celebrating wild successes, to offering specific tips and solutions. While each listserv is moderated, we ask that you help us in caring for the community, each other, and yourself by following the community agreements.
As part of the trust-based philanthropy community, participants agree to uphold trust-based values in action, including when reading, posting to, or responding to the listserv.
Participants also agree to:
Practice self-reflection. In order to do this work well, we must practice a degree of self-reflection which recognizes that, although we are all working toward the same shared goals, we each bring our opinions and lived experiences to this work. Take time and space to reflect on your own role in this movement to prioritize trust, cede power, and build equity.
Be accountable to yourself, and to each other. We are operating within a larger society that upholds harmful beliefs that many of us are working to change. This is a space to actively work toward the systems and relationships we want to see in the world. If you have witnessed or experienced harassment of any kind, please reach out to community@trustbasedphilanthropy.org.
Act with respect. We are here to listen to and learn from one another. As a community that values trust, we will all do our part to listen and honor each others’ experiences, and actively work to cause no hurt or harm in our relationships.
Practice confidentiality: Information that is posted on the listserv may not be shared externally, unless the person posting it has given explicit permission. This allows participants to work through their challenges openly, without speaking for their organizations.
If you experience or witness behavior that is not aligned with these agreements, please email community@trustbasedphilanthropy.org.
